Q: What is the purpose of MyTeacherHelper.com?

A: This site was created to assist the classroom teacher. It is away to assign and access work for students to work on when they are not sitting in your classroom. You can assign a quiz and allow the student to complete it on their own, or schedule some computer lab time for one of your classes.

Q: What happens if I hit enter while typing a quiz?

A: Enter auto submits what you have so far, but you can always edit that question/answers if you need to.

Q: Will the banner ads be displayed while students take a quiz?

A: No. There will be no banner ads displayed. They could distract the students and they are irrelevant to the quiz.

Q: How do I register for an account?

A: Choose “Register” in the member login box. Then fill out the form. Once you fill out the form, an e-mail will be sent asking you to activate your account. Once you activate your account, you are fully registered.

Q: Can students register?

A: No, only teachers and parents can register. Students will be registered by their teacher. This feature enables the teacher to be sure that all of their students are registered properly and for the correct course.

Q: Why doesn’t the site allow me to create a class/quiz?

A: You probably have not completed your profile. You must have modified your profile and add certain data first as your class/student data is recorded into data tables based on your profile data.

Q: How do I add classes and students?

A: Login with a teacher account and go to the classroom helper. Add classes from here. Once classes have been added, you can enroll students in one of three ways: individual students with pre-existing accounts can be added by entering their; individual students who do not have an account can be added by completing the form; finally you can add entire class rosters using a csv file.

Q: Are student ID’s required?

A: No. There is a field for that information if you would like to add it, but if your school does not utilize this information, don’t worry.

Q: Can I print a hard copy of a quiz?

A: Yes. Hard copies of quizzes can be printed. These are great for: record keeping; to give the quiz in class instead of online or even to show parents who are computer challenged. You can use the “Print Hard Copy” option on the quiz list screen in the quiz helper utility. These hard copies have the answer sheet as the final page.

Q: How do questions get into the quiz bank?

A: There are two ways that questions are added to the quz bank. The first ways is when new questions are added to a quiz, they are automatically added to the quiz bank. The sceond way they can be added is that you can directly add questions to the quiz bank for later use.

Q: How do I add a quiz?

A: Go to the "Quiz Helper" on the teacher site. Then, choose "add/modify quizes".

Q: Can I add graphics to questions?

A: Yes. You can add .jpg and .gif graphics to any question or answer possibility providing you add it to the media bank.

Q: Can I use html in the quizes?

A: Yes. You can use html in the quiz questions and answers. A popular reason that you might want to use html is for use of superscripts and subscripts in math and science.

Q: I created a new account and did not receive an e-mail with activation information. What is wrong?

A: If you have an "AOL" e-mail account, our site can not send you e-mails. Use the "contact support" and we will send you information through a different means or create another account with a non-AOL e-mail address.
