The College Grants Fee (UGC) has requested universities to allow for students to generate exams in local languages even if the course is presented in English medium, although arranging evaluators and encouraging the translation of textbooks, according to Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar.
The Fee has also asked the universities to promote the use of local language in teaching and finding out processes as effectively.
“Promotion and standard use of Indian languages in training is a crucial place of target in the new National Training Coverage (NEP). It emphasises the importance of instructing and instruction in the mother tongue and nearby languages.
“It also lays thrust on the need to optimise interaction in all Indian languages for superior cognitive attainment and the improvement of a holistic persona of the learners,” Mr Kumar said.
