New master’s program offers pathway for aspiring PK-12 world language teachers

A new accelerated master’s diploma method in UW–Madison’s highly ranked University of Instruction aims to meet a critical require for PK-12 entire world language academics in Wisconsin and outside of.

Launching in summertime 2023, the Globe Language Instruction MS software, housed in the Section of Curriculum and Instruction, will allow for pupils to receive a master’s degree and PK-12 educating license in planet language training in just 12 months.

“The Planet Language Education MS software will give a distinct pathway for possible teachers to acquire the needed information and experience to grow to be dynamic tutorial leaders, working at the forefront of justice and equity-centered language instruction to provide the requires of learners and family members,” claims Tom Owenby, the director of UW–Madison’s Teacher Training Center. 

L.J. Randolph Jr., an assistant professor in the Office Curriculum and Instruction, is the school director of the new plan. He claims he hopes it will draw in a diverse team of pre-support educators who wish to teach a wide variety of languages — like individuals such as Spanish and French that are commonly taught, and languages that are less usually presented in PK-12 educational institutions.
