Tom Owenby is the UW–Madison School of Education’s new affiliate dean for teacher schooling, a purpose he started off on Jan. 1.

Owenby states he hopes to use the UW–Madison University of Education Wisconsin Trainer Pledge as a lever to bolster these efforts. The donor-funded Instructor Pledge pays the equivalent of in-state tuition and expenses, testing, and licensing costs for all teacher schooling college students. In return, graduates “pledge” to teach for a few or 4 years at a pre-kindergarten via 12th quality university in Wisconsin.

Professor Kimber Wilkerson had previously served as the School’s affiliate dean for trainer training, and experienced been the faculty director of the Instructor Instruction Center since its launch in 2018.
